Lantia Marítima
We redefined the tracking app’s frontend for Lantia Marítima.
We worked on modernizing the frontend of Lantia Marítima’s private area for its clients and administrators, using Angular v13, in addition to supporting the review and optimization of the backend.
The challenge
Simplify the way the ERP connects to the API data and apply a frontend redesign in the client’s private area of their site, achieving a more modern, dynamic, and intuitive look that facilitates navigation and improves the user experience.
The project
Lantia Marítima is a benchmark and specialist in maritime shipment services and handling. Due to their commitment to the quality of service they always want to offer their clients, they sought to give their site a new image, accompanied by an improvement in usability and access to information on it.
The main point of action was the client’s private area on their site. This had functions as relevant as:
- Shipping information: data such as the ship’s identification or cargo tracking in real time.
- Quotes: clients could access a cost forecast for a specific maritime route. Through a pricing system, the user can know in advance what the budget will be and access a pre-agreement, from which they can continue the process to complete the contract.
- Billing: in general, consultation of all contracts and previous agreements that the client has with Lantia Marítima, recording any commercial activity between both parties.
This client private area, at first, was fed in real time by 4 APIs, from which the different data types were collected. To simplify the process, Lantia Marítima integrated all the necessary data into an ERP. The other objective in which Digital55 has helped the client has been the integration with a single API, ensuring that all the data obtained is accurate and up-to-date to meet the needs of its users and that it also reports exact information in real time.

Modular architecture
Thanks to which we prevent changes in the user experience from altering the backend. We take advantage of the backend already implemented in PHP and focus our efforts on frontend development with our Angular experts.

Code reuse
We encapsulate the code as much as possible and favor its reuse in elements that can be replicated or adapted on other pages, speeding up development.

Redesign and UX/UI
We simplify navigation, facilitating exploration and access to key functions. We maintain the corporate identity throughout the entire interface, integrating attractive visual elements consistent with the brand identity.
The solution
From Digital55 we provide the necessary work team to execute the project, addressing and taking into account the expectations and objectives set by the client throughout the process.
The team has covered the four key profiles for its development: UX/UI consultant for the initial phase; senior developer and QA engineer for development, migration, and production launch; and a project manager who has managed the entire project.
Design
With the work of the UX/UI specialists, we achieved a more modern, dynamic, intuitive, and fresh vision of the company.
Frontend
To materialize these designs, the technical solution we implemented for the frontend uses Angular v13. The component-based and design-based development has allowed us to speed up the work by reusing elements and achieve a representation completely faithful to the prototypes and wireframes approved by the client.
In addition, with the aim of adapting the solution as much as possible to the needs of each user, the functionalities of the platform have been worked on based on two main roles: the administrator role, which is intended for Lantia Marítima management personnel, and the client role, which only accesses their personal information.
Backend
Regarding the backend, we maintained the client’s, built in PHP, but we made revisions to its implementation and its functionalities, in order to optimize the volume of data. Similarly, we configured a backup and version control system, as well as guaranteed the traceability of the code.
The result we obtained is a much more efficient approach in terms of API-ERP communication and a much more attractive and representative image of Lantia’s values and commitments, accompanied by an improvement in usability, which makes it easier for any user to navigate and view the data.
