Risk calculation platform for Nacional Re
We simplify the calculation of risk premiums for the reinsurer’s clients through a decision tree system.
The challenge
Calculating risk premiums for a client is an essential task in the insurance sector.
The challenge was to simplify this calculation process through the creation of an automated decision tree, which the insurer’s operators can access with an internal platform to obtain valuations of each new client.
The interface
In this case, we have done a design-led development. At the beginning of the project, we prioritize the definition of an exact prototype of what the application will be like.
This gives the client room to approve it or make suggestions or modifications. In addition, the client has a very clear idea of what they will find in the delivery, seeing the final result even before writing the first line of code.
This is a very minimalist design, removing any distraction for the user so that the user experience is very intuitive and simple. In addition, the colors used by NacionalRe are maintained to give the tool more corporate identity.
Once the designs are approved, our development team starts working. This interface, specifically, is developed in Angular.

The Solution
We created an application that allows risk premiums to be established for potential new clients of a large reinsurance company, based on their clinical history and other basic lifestyle data.
The application is mainly divided into 4 blocks: Insurers, Users, Pathologies and Valuations.
In addition, there are different types of permission for administrators. When insurance operators need to calculate insurance, they have this tool as an assistant.
1. Register the profile of the interested user
2. Enter the data requested by the tool.
3. As questions are answered in one way or another, the thread of questions will vary to adapt to each specific case.
4. The operator obtains a very precise assessment of the risk premium of that user.
5. The data can be consulted at any time thanks to the fact that it is stored securely in the database.
