Online appointments and kiosks for Mapfre
The separation of frontend and backend allowed us to create the online appointment experience to connect insured parties with the company.
The challenge
For years, we have provided Mapfre with programming teams specializing in the development of digital platforms where insured parties interact with the company, as well as digital frontends for attracting new business.
The Methodology
We created the online medical appointment experience. Users can make an appointment with a doctor through the digital channel. They also validate their appointment at the kiosks when they visit the company’s own medical centers, and they are assigned a room in the center.
We designed the experience of requesting a medical appointment online for the insured party, both at the kiosks and on the web. We connect the kiosk frontend and the web frontend with the internal information systems of the insurance company managed on the SAP platform.
The Solution
The architecture based on APIs and the separation of backend and frontend allows the user to see information about their medical appointments and the availability in the doctors’ schedules.
We also connect the kiosks with health card readers for the recognition of insured parties. When the card is swiped through the reader, the system retrieves the appointment and assigns the room in the medical center.
